For sale is this magnificent mid-century Brazilian Rosewood draw-leaf dining table by well-known Danish manufacturer Moreddi, and distributed by Skovmand & Andersen – perfectly matched with eight Moller model 71 rosewood dining chairs in newly-upholstered, black seats. Circa 1960s and just lovingly restored back to pristine condition, normally Danish dining tables are made of teak so this is indeed unique being it’s made of rosewood so it’s both quite stunning and unique. The usage of Brazilian Rosewood was banned in the early 1990s, making rosewood furniture in-general more rare and highly sought-after as they're no longer being produced.
OVERVIEW: Keen attention was paid to every detail of its restoration so it's now in absolutely gorgeous condition, certain to be the focal point of your dining space. The rich-and-dark rosewood is absolutely gorgeous and would be a beautiful table for your family/guests to gather around for the next 30+ years, then pass along to the next generation for their enjoyment too.
OVERALL COLORING NOTE: the rosewood is a richer/darker in-person than depicted in photos, rosewood is always so difficult to properly capture with photography for some reason...see the video as well.
TABLE DETAILS: The rosewood dining table now exudes that wonderful, deep-and-rich rosewood coloring and has just been professionally restored and finished with a protective catalyzed lacquer coating for both protection against general usage and UV-light fading. Closely inspect the pictures and you'll also notice the beautiful tabletop wood graining that is book-matched meaning one congruent/repeating woodgrain pattern all the way from one end to the other...they certainly don't make furniture of this quality anymore. The scale of this table would be best suited for medium-to-larger dining spaces. It is 52" x 34" at its smallest, then extends to 92" when fully extended with the two 20” draw-leaf extensions hidden underneath the main tabletop - enough for 8 people! Table height is 28.5" high. Legs simply unscrew for transport/moving.
CHAIR DETAILS: Moller chairs are widely known as the epitome of Danish design; yet within the Moller grouping of designs, the model 71 stands out as something truly special. Notice how the curved backrests slightly taper from the seat to the top. Chairs retain the manufacturer marked "J.L. Moller Models" and Danish Furniture Control stamping verifying their authenticity, with jaw-dropping rosewood woodgraining across each backrest/legs/etc.
UPHOLSTERY: All have just been professionally reupholstered in a refined and classic faux black leather that are both stylish and durable, and will never go out of style by the well-known upholstery shop in Seattle, HM Duke Design. Each chair received new internal seat cushioning along with reinforced nylon strapping mesh underneath for support, and to prevent sagging over time. In short, if you're looking to exude a fantastic mid-century vibe in your dining space while dining comfortably for the next 30+ years, these are the chairs for you.
CONDITION: I've restored numerous rosewood pieces over the years and this is one of the most exquisite and highest quality craftsmanship, deep-and-dark old-growth rosewood coloring and overall condition. Its just been lovingly restored/reconditioned in so it now exudes a beautiful sheen with that lovely warm rosewood glow to showcase the beautiful wood-grain throughout. As with all vintage furniture, there are small signs of wear/patina throughout that I've addressed but this one came out pristine. Overall, it presents beautifully.
CHAIRS FYI: I've paired these same eight chairs with two of my dining tables; so no, you're not seeing double!
