Here is a stunning Eames lounge chair and ottoman by Herman Miller (model 670/671) in classic black leather and Brazilian Rosewood that I'm proud to offer for sale; in fact, it's one of my favorite Eames restorations to date as I've resurrected many of these over the years and this one ranks right up there in terms of aesthetic beauty and overall condition...the unique woodgraining pattern across the back panels is simply gorgeous. Keen attention was paid to every detail of its restoration so it's now absolutely gorgeous, certain to be the focal point of your space. These are so rewarding and satisfying to restore and resurrect.

OVERVIEW: Introduced in 1956 and still in production today, its stylish and comfortable too. This is a 2nd generation Eames lounger featuring Brazilian Rosewood shells (circa 1960s, matched/marked #319) with classic black leather cushions. The usage of Brazilian Rosewood was banned in the early 1990s, making rosewood models more rare and highly sought-after as they're no longer being produced. Eames loungers of this age and condition are now considered part investment, part lovely/functional furniture ready to enjoy while lounging for the next 30+ years...then pass onto your next generation for their enjoyment.

LEATHER, SHOCKMOUNTS and SHELLS: This one features original black leather cushions in fantastic condition - just a small amount of original and classic wear, and I have reconditioned them with the same leather products used by vintage Ferrari owners wanting to retain their leather interiors in concours d'elegance condition. The entire chair has just been meticulously restored by yours truly, with the rosewood shells being restored to exude their deep-and-rich rosewood coloring, lustrous sheen and aluminum bases/accents polished to shine brightly once again too. All metal feet/sliders (i.e. Domes of Silence) are in-tact and base pedestal bushings are sturdy/solid (ie. no wobbles). Shockmounts are very solid (a very common frailty of older Eames chairs) too, I'm 6'3" 235lbs and the chair supports me just fine during my morning coffee sessions - quality control purposes you know!

SECOND-GENERATION ELEMENTS: It retains all the aspects of a second-generation Eames as it should, including: flatter down-filled cushions, silver-round cushion clips and rubber backmounts. Original Herman Miller label as well, this one was manufactured in their California facility.

RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS AND BACKGROUND STORY: This particular chair was purchased directly from the son of the original owner who bought it new in the 1960s, and it lived its entire life in the corner of their stunning MCM Paul Kirk-designed waterfront home, until his father recently passed away at 104. The entire family was ecstatic after I sent along photos of it after its restoration, my pleasure Tom and all!

DIMENSIONS: 33" high x 31" wide x 32" deep ; seat height is 15" from floor.
