For sale is quite possibly the nicest mid-century dining set on the planet - a fully-restored round-to-oval expandable dining table in Brazilian rosewood perfectly matched with eight Moller model 71 rosewood dining chairs in newly-upholstered, black seats. Circa 1960s and just recently restored, I've refinished many dining sets over the years and this one might be the best of them all...keen attention was paid to every detail of its restoration so it's now in absolutely gorgeous condition, certain to be the focal point of your dining space.

OVERVIEW: This is not your average dining set, rather part work of art...part livable investment...part functional furniture. It's a strikingly beautiful dining ensemble exuding brilliant Brazilian rosewood throughout, now ready to graciously host your family gatherings for the next 30+ years, then pass onto the next generation for their enjoyment.

TABLE DETAILS: The rosewood dining table is of the utmost quality and in pristine condition after being recently restored. It now exudes that wonderful, deep-and-rich rosewood coloring and has just been professionally restored and finished with a protective catalyzed lacquer coating for both protection against general usage and UV-light fading. Closely inspect the pictures and you'll also notice the beautiful tabletop wood graining that is book-matched meaning one congruent/repeating woodgrain pattern all the way from one end to the other...they certainly don't make furniture of this quality anymore. Also, be sure to notice the exquisite table edging and tapered legs...this is Danish quality and styling at its finest. Table styling reminds me of the craftsmanship of well-known maker Omann Jun but I can't authenticate with 100 percent confidence so I won't speculate here - it is absolutely stunning though.

TABLE SIZING/SCALE: The scale of this dining set would be well suited for medium-to-larger sized dining spaces as the table is both wider and longer than normal dining tables of the era measuring 46.5" when in the round with three 19.75" leaves expanding it to a whopping 105.75" when all are inserted - enough for eight-ten people and ample real estate for serving dishes amongst everyone's place settings. Normal dining table height, 28.5" high.

CHAIR DETAILS: Moller chairs are widely known as the epitome of Danish design; yet within the Moller grouping of designs, the model 71 stands out as something truly special. Notice how the curved backrests slightly taper from the seat to the top. Chairs retain the manufacturer marked "J.L. Moller Models" and Danish Furniture Control stamping verifying their authenticity, with jaw-dropping rosewood woodgraining across each backrest/legs/etc.

UPHOLSTERY: All have just been professionally reupholstered in a refined and classic faux black leather that are both stylish and durable, and will never go out of style by the well-known upholstery shop in Seattle, HM Duke Design. Each chair received new internal seat cushioning along with reinforced nylon strapping mesh underneath for support, and to prevent sagging over time. In short, if you're looking to exude a fantastic mid-century vibe in your dining space while dining comfortably for the next 30+ years, these are the chairs for you.

CONDITION AND DETAILS: The usage of Brazilian Rosewood was banned in the early 1990s, making rosewood furniture in-general quite scarce and highly sought-after since it's no longer being harvested...making this set not only exquisite but also ultra rare/valuable. As with all vintage furniture, there are small signs of age/patina that I've already addressed/blended but still remain yet don't detract. I took numerous photos in various lighting to give an idea of the overall luster/beauty, as you can tell it presents absolutely beautiful overall.
