Newly-restored 42" vintage Knoll tulip round dining table in oak by Eero Saarinen, circa 1960s

For sale is this newly-restored, wonderful 42" round vintage tulip dining table in oak by Knoll International, designed by Eero Saarinen. They certainly don't make furniture of this quality anymore and a great table for your family to gather around for the next 50+ years...or could be used as a desk!?!

OVERVIEW: Introduced in the late 1950s, this beauty features a heavy cast iron "tulip" this one to the 1960s. Its overall design was modernist in its simplicity while humanist in its appeal; the look was futuristic but soft and was "an imaginative leap forward for postwar American design, and a triumph of art and technology." (this section description was mostly taken from the book "KNOLL - A Modern Universe" by Brian Lutz). The design is so timeless, Knoll is still producing these tables today retailing just north of $6,000.

CONDITION: Now in fabulous condition after being recently restored, it exudes a wonderful warm, old-growth oak glow that almost resembles the look of teak - so you could combine this one with some Danish teak chairs, or something completely different (like Eames dining chairs) for a more modern look its that versatile. Its just been restored/reconditioned in so it features a beautiful/protective satin sheen with that lovely warm glow to showcase the beautiful old-growth oak woodgrain. As with all vintage furniture, there are some minor blemishes that I have already addressed/blended but you'll be hard-pressed to notice them on this one - its now in fantastic condition again! Overall, it presents beautifully.

RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS: This particular table lived most of its life within the Weyerhaeuser offices, local here in the Pacific Northwest. The modernist Weyerhaeuser offices featured many Knoll pieces throughout their facilities, with this table still retaining the original "KNOLL INC - Weyerhaeuser" inventory label underneath the tabletop. The Knoll label is unfortunately gone to time but you can see where it was adhered (see the darker area just above the white Weyerhaeuser label" and stamping numbers on the bottom/top of the cast iron tulip base.

DIMENSIONS: 42" round x 28.25" high
