For sale is a very pretty pair of reclining arm/lounge chairs by the Shield Chair Company of California, in a super-cool retro black/blue fabric. These beauties are often attributed to well-known Danish chairs by IB Kofod Larsen, and I can see why as their low profile yet study structure would be a welcomed addition into your living space...so stylish/classic!
OVERVIEW: My favorite aspect of these chairs is how the seat and seatback floats, suspended from the ground...then can recline into four different positions to the loungers delight. So fun/unique!
CONDITION: The frames have just been reconditioned and given a new protective lacquer coating, the frame coloring is a honey walnut (if that makes any sense) so would blend with a wide-array of color schemes. The fabric isn't brand-new but too nice to warrant new upholstery after just being professionally cleaned...the cushions underneath are still in great shape as well. I'd rate the upholstery condition as an 8.5 or 9, out of 10. Overall, they present beautifully...and these are quite comfortable and sturdy too! I've taken photos with and without the cushions to showcase those lovely frames.
HISTORY: I obtained these directly from the daughter of the original owners, who bought them brand-new.
DIMENSIONS: 27" wide x 28" high x 33" deep (each dimension taken at the widest point). These chairs are sturdy and wide enough to accommodate bigger guests too (e.g. I'm 6'3" and these fit me great). Seat height from floor is 17.5" at lowest point.
SHIPPING: I'd guess shipping will be about $500-$800 anywhere within the lower-48, please contact me with your zipcode for an accurate quote though. I sell and ship much mid-century modern furniture nationwide from my home showroom in Seattle so I'll coordinate all shipping logistics on my end if you'd like...I normally use a shipping company that specializes in furniture transportation and individually wrap/unwrap each piece for the utmost protection. Shipments usually go out the first week of each month. Free local pickup in the Seattle area too, or you can arrange you're own shipping if you'd prefer.
QUESTIONS: Happy to answer any questions and send additional photos, if needed. My hope is to provide as much detail/images so there are no surprises upon delivery.
