RESERVED FOR KELLY (8-25-21): The most iconic chair ever produced needs little introduction, for sale is this Eames lounge chair and ottoman by Herman Miller (model 670/671) in a rare chocolate brown leather and Brazilian Rosewood. Introduced in 1956 and still in production today, its stylish and comfortable too.

OVERVIEW: This Eames lounger features Brazilian Rosewood shells (stamped #257) with chocolate brown leather cushions. I've restored many Eames loungers over the years and have never seen this color leather before - so its quite unique and rare too. Additionally, the usage of Brazilian Rosewood was banned in the early 1990s, making rosewood models more rare and highly sought-after as they're no longer being produced.

CONDITION: The entire chair has just been meticulously gone over, with the rosewood shells being reoiled/conditioned to exude their lustrous sheen and aluminum bases/accents polished to shine brightly once again. All metal sliders (i.e. Domes of Silence) are in-tact and base pedestal bushings are sturdy/solid (ie. no wobbles). As to be expected with any vintage piece of furniture, there are a few subtle imperfections...see the right-side area of the top shell that I have addressed so its less of an issue and not overly noticeable (unless at awkward close-up inspection range). Regardless, I mention it for transparency though...please see photos and please inquire if you’d like more details.

LEATHER, SHOCKMOUNTS and SHELLS: The brown leather cushions are in excellent and original condition, with just the right amount of "lived-in" patina/wear. Shockmounts have just been replaced (a very common frailty of older Eames chairs) and now ready for another lifetime of enjoyment. Little UV-light exposure explains why the rosewood shells still retain their deep luster and rich coloring - see photos, the rosewood woodgrain and coloration is superb...so deep and rich!

RESTORATION HIGHLIGHTS AND BACKGROUND STORY: This particular chair was purchased directly from the original owners, who bought it new but it sat in their basement for many years after a friend carelessly "plopped down" in it thus snapping the left-rear wing...and why you always ease yourself into an Eames lounger! That rear wing was just professionally repaired and matched with period-correct rosewood veneer so you'd barely know it was fixed but I mention it (again for full transparency) and a fun story to share with your chair admirers.

DIMENSIONS: 35" high x 31" wide x 32" deep ; seat height is 15" from floor.
